About

Engineer, leader, and a hand on site.

Alok Sharma joined the Indian Navy in 1982 as an engineer officer and spent the larger part of his naval career underwater, keeping submarines running in some of the least forgiving conditions an engineer can work in.

In 2004 he turned that discipline to ropeways. Since then he has led India's largest ropeway company, managed the construction of passenger ropeways and chairlifts for state governments and private developers, and advised on projects across many Indian states.

Clients value his combination of technical depth and practical project control. He is used to remote sites, difficult weather and tight timelines, and he is known for finishing what he starts on schedule. He now works independently and takes on consultancy, project management and techno-commercial assignments in ropeways, as well as in solar and alternative energy.
